WHAT IS EPOXY?

HOW TO APPLY EPOXY

If you have a concrete floor, you can cover it with an epoxy top coat. Most of the work involves preparing the floor for the top coat. If you don’t clean and degrease the floor, you’ll end up with sloppy, unprofessional results. Always scrub any stubborn stains and fill in any cracks. Finish by pouring an acid solution over the surface.

After you prepare the floor, you’re ready to apply the first layer of epoxy. You’ll need to mix the epoxy solution and evenly apply it to the surface. Take care not to inhale the epoxy. It’s a lung irritant, so you should wear a mask and protective goggles at all times. Be sure to allow enough time for the epoxy to dry and bond to the underlying concrete. Tape off the area to prevent anyone from walking across the surface while it dries.
